I will stamp all over 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the novice is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
